Norse Dual Stave in Iron, Vegvisir and Helm of Awe

When one stave isn't enough

This solid iron coin was struck with 80 tons of force between our hand-engraved steel Vegvisir and Helm of Awe dies! After that it's given a durable black oxide coating that won't readily rust and can be regularly handled.

Vegvisir Wayfinder

The Vegvísir, or Norse compass, is an Icelandic magical stave, which, according to the Huld manuscript, protects one from losing their way in bad weather.

Encircling the Vegvísir is the runic transliteration of the Icelandic phrase, “Ég stoppar ekki Þegar Þreyttur, ég stoppar Þegar ég er búinn”, which translates to, “I do not stop when tired, I stop when done.”

The Helm of Awe

Ægishjálmur, or Œgishjalmr` or in English, “The Helm of Awe”, is a Nordic magical Stave which is meant to imbue its carrier with protection, and inspire victory in battle. We like to imagine helping in the day to day challenges of every day life, and how the stave might remind its carrier how strong they truly are at heart.

Algiz, or “Z-Runes” Make up the foundations of the 8 main symbols-- forks emitting from a central point which are on the offensive and protecting the center.

The Norse Dual Stave is struck from solid iron, measures 3.3 cm in diameter, and weighs about 33 grams. Coin artwork by Woody Maringer.

The product is treated to look as if it has been handled and circulated. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science, coloring and patinas will vary. No two are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history and facts about the coin.

Best damn EDC coin, period!

This coin is absolutely the most amazing coin! It looks freakin amazing, and the dual design is flawless. Especially for those who have Norse heritage, this coin is a must have.I’ve bought several coins from this shop and they are the best quality and customer service.

Nice hefty coin

The designs are great, and this coin has some serious and satisfying heft. Whether you're keeping it in your pocket, on a shelf, or in your car, this is a dang fine coin.

Nice for EDC.

I like the weight of the coin. Nice to flip in your hand when you’re idle. My only complaint is that the vegvesir side is off center, but it’s not bad.

Nice coin, but a bit thick

Nice coin, like the iron and the markings, but it's a bit thick, mine is almost 1/4"! More of a discus than a coin at that point. Won't carry it with me, just keep it on a shelf some place.
