Aquilonian 5p • AquiloniaA golden coin of Aquilonia bearing Conan's image. It has a star of five daggers indicating the denomination, and an inscription in Phapian translating to "Five Aquilonian small coins."
The coins in this set from the world of Robert E. Howard are struck from solid brass and copper, measure 2.6 to 3.2 cm in diameter, and weigh 5.8 to 20.1 grams. Coin artwork by Woody Maringer and Felix Rasumny.
The set contains coins treated to look as if they have been handled and circulated within their world. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science. Coloring and patinas will vary. No two sets are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history and facts about the coins.

Each coin in this set is unique, but the King Conan Aquilonian Luna stands out as the most brilliant of all the Conan coins. It is very thick, the design is very deeply struck which gives it a more of a 3-dimentional look than most coins, and has a great feel. It's my favorite of any of the coins I've seen from Shire Post Mint.
This is a well rounded set and each of the coins has a very unique finish and feel.
I ordered a set of Conan Coins back in the day and they used to be individually placed in plastic card holders with a small booklet that came with interesting lore. For example the Stygian scroll came with a syllabary you could use to "translate" the coin.
This set was different, the coins came in a small plastic display baggie and had a single booklet with a blurb about each coin. It was still very neat and looks great on my display collection, but I can't help wondering what was written in those lore booklets for the coins I didn't collect back then.
Great set of coins!
Perfect for D&D night tokens for players!
Love the coins I received and the history along with them cementing them even more in Robert E. Howard's world of Hyboria.
The detail on the brass Aquilonian Luna is amazing and obvious care was taken to keep detail and quality on both sides. The lion head relief is amazing and King Conan portrait is not smiling on purpose which is fitting to the cimmerians attitude.
The other coins like the bronze cimmerian coin has great artwork and pays homage to the brooding surly cimmerian's attitudes. A descending vulture is on one side and a skull on the other.
All of them are amazing. The wolf on the Turanian coins and the helmet and hands on the Hyperborean coins are done in great detail.
The stygian coins are both beautiful and seem very exotic which fits the dark and mysterious land of the south.
I got both sets and I am extremely happy. It feels like I am holding a little bit of the world of Hyboria in my hands.
I love everything from Shire Post Mint
