Mistborn Set #1 - Two Coins of The Final Empire
Two Coins of the Lord Ruler
A set of two coins from the Final Empire. These coins were made at some point during the Lord Ruler’s 1000 year reign, but it is unclear exactly when.
Final Empire Copper ClipClips are small copper coins used by nobles for the purchase of small items. The obverse features an image of the Lord Ruler surrounded by the words “One Clip” inscribed in the Steel Alphabet. On the reverse is the symbol for copper surrounded by the Steel Alphabet number 1.
Final Empire Golden BoxingBoxings are the large denomination coins of The Final Empire. They would be used for business transactions between noble families and the government Cantons.
The coin obverse has an image of Kredik Shaw, the Lord Ruler’s palace. The text surrounding the palace reads “One Imperial” inscribed in the Steel Alphabet. The reverse has the symbol of the Kredik Shaw, as shown on official maps of the Final Empire.
The word “Boxing” is a slang term, referring to the “box” of the palace depicted on the coin.
The coins in this set from the world of Brandon Sanderson are struck from solid copper and brass, measure 2 to 3 cm in diameter, and weigh 2.7 to 15.5 grams. Coin artwork by Isaac Stewart, Ben McSweeney and Woody Maringer.
The set contains coins treated to look as if they have been handled and circulated within their world. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science. Coloring and patinas will vary. No two sets are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history and facts about the coin.
