The Real-life Dracula

  • Solid .999 fine silver

  • 2.3 cm diameter
  • 3.3 grams - 1/10 troy oz

Bram Stoker’s famous tale of Dracula the vampire was inspired by the life of Vlad the Impaler, Vlad III, the Prince of Wallachia. "Dracula" means "Son of the dragon" and he and his father, Vlad Dracul, were both members of the chivalric Order of the Dragon, and renamed themselves accordingly. This fictionalized 3-Ducat coin is from the days of his short-lived triumph over the Ottoman Turks. The obverse features a portrait of Vlad Dracula while the reverse bears the sign of the dragon. Give it to the immortal in your life so they can remember the good 'ol days.

A Piece Of History

While this coin is an "imagined reproduction", everything about it says "this is the real thing"! Size, weight, the imagery...Vlad Tepes would be pleased to see himself on this coin!

OOP's

I would advise that if a coin is much smaller, than most, put a quarter next to the coin for a comparison value.

Thanks for letting us know! We currently have size comparison photos for many but not all of our coins. We'll work on updating photos with more size comparisons.

Eternally Impressed

What can I say? It's a silver three-ducat, the most appropriate three-ducat for Dracula.
