Vlad Dracula Titanium Coin

The Real-life Dracula

  • solid titanium, anodized a curious blue/purple/greenish (see photos)

  • 2.3 cm diameter
  • limited run

Bram Stoker’s famous tale of Dracula the vampire was inspired by the life of Vlad the Impaler, Vlad III, the Prince of Wallachia. "Dracula" means "Son of the dragon" and he and his father, Vlad Dracul, were both members of the chivalric Order of the Dragon, and renamed themselves accordingly. This fictionalized 3-Ducat coin is from the days of his short-lived triumph over the Ottoman Turks. The obverse features a portrait of Vlad Dracula while the reverse bears the sign of the dragon. Give it to the immortal in your life so they can remember the good 'ol days.

Coin artwork by Joe Paonessa.

The product is treated to look as if it has been handled and circulated. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science, coloring and patinas will vary. No two are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history and facts about the coin.

Great coin, amazing packaging, love it!!!

I love the Vlad coin! It is a great likeness to one of the surviving portraits, and has a great heft to boot. I got it as a gift for a friend and she loved it!

Cool Coin

I mean, it's titanium! My favorite is the silver, followed by iron, but this one was just too cool to pass up. It's like a modern take on Vlad's legacy.

Customer Service is non-existent.

I’ve sent two emails to your address given in the “contact us” portion of your website without reply.

There is obviously a glitch somewhere but not posting a phone number is ridiculous. My sense is that disputing a charge on my card for the only item I’ve ever been disappointed in from your awesome inventory will generate a response.

Hi Sean,
It looks like we were able to process a refund for you on September 14. We are working to figure out what the issue was in receiving your first emails.

A fine addition to your collection

The rainbow sheen of the burnt titanium of this coin makes it a rather unique. Vlad the Impaled is too often overshadowed by his supernatural fictional counterpart. Definitely worth the look.
