This coronation coin, or Crown, was minted in Gondor to celebrate the coronation of Aragorn as King Elessar Telcontar. He is shown on the obverse riding a horse and holding a flag with the White Tree of Gondor. Surrounding Aragorn, inscribed in Tengwar: Elessar, Arwen, Gondor. The coin is a celebration of Aragorn’s coronation as well as his marriage to the Elf Arwen. On the reverse are brothers Isildur and Anárion holding a shield featuring the White Tree. They stand on Andúril (Flame of the West in Quenya), Aragorn’s sword forged from the shards of Narsil. Below it are the Sevens Stones Palantíri and the words, King Star and Year One. Above the brothers are the seven stars of the House of Elendil.

The product is treated to look as if it has been handled and circulated. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science, coloring and patinas will vary. No two are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history, translations, and facts about the coins.

When I heard about the Mithril Gondor Crown being a limited Kickstarter reward (and that Kickstarter was long past), I was bummed. To be able to buy one of these Artist Proofs was something that I could not pass up. Even though the possibility of defect was known, my coin had no physical blemishes. The color had a sligh greenish tint but still looked great. Thanks for making this available.
I'm glad we found them in the move! Sometimes the variations made while testing end up being uniquely amazing :D
Also, a lovely complement to the one I got during the Kickstarter campaign. Bring on more LOTR coins!
