Dead Center Top - Eisenhower Dollar
We have transformed an actual 1972 Eisenhower dollar coin into a precision top. Using a Dead Center .38 Special brass cartridge shell as the stem with a silicon nitride ball replacing the primer as a contact point. The cartridge has a hand-knurled edge for better grip. Spin times range between 5-9 min on a good surface. Each Dead Center top comes packaged in a metal tin with a custom foam spacer for protection.
We hand-balance each top for maximum spin times. Because the design of the coin itself is not evenly balanced, we lightly grind down some of the raised edge. It's a subtle mark that does not blemish the coin design or the reeded edge of the coin. This makes the difference between a 2 min spin and a 9 min spin.
