We Did it.
2020 sucked, but you made it through. If you’re reading this our species has pressed onward. We survived this dumpster fire of a year, a bit worse for wear.
Is it over? Many communities still need help to get through 2021. Northwest Arkansas (where we made this medal) is home to over 12,000 Marshallese residents. Marshallese community members are disproportionately affected by COVID-19. $1 from the sale of this medal goes to the Marshallese Educational Initiative’s COVID response, learn more at mei.ngo/covid-19

The product is treated to look as if it has been handled and circulated. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science, coloring and patinas will vary. No two are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history and facts about the coin.
Note—Each order comes packed with a handwritten envelope straight from Shire Post Mint. We will make this out to whomever is on the SHIPPING ADDRESS. If you are giving this as a gift and would like a different name on the envelope, please include the recipient's name in the Special Instructions field as you complete your order.

I ordered a few items--the "I survived 2020" pin, medal, and a copper elvish moon. They came promptly and were packed better than most anything I have ever bought. From the outer package to how each item was packaged & how the items were combined into a *secure* package in the inner envelope...simply amazing.
The individual packaging of the items is really part of the presentation, with particular info, seals, etc. With all the items secured on a fun fantasy envelope--hand-lettered to either the buyer or an ultimate recipient specified by the buyer--complete with a seal (protected by a piece of paper specially tasked to do this)--it is a surprising & very delightful presentation and it makes even opening the package its own adventure or quest, completely in keeping with the roots & purpose of this Mint.
The careful packing shows an attention to detail which more craftspersons would do well to emulate. But the real evidence of the skill of the Shire Post Mint's skilled craftspeople is, of course, in their products.
The metal items which we received were well-crafted, with detail, fine strikes, and very professional/well-worked as items.
They were gifts for my wife, who was very surprised, very delighted, and THAT is the final "test" of the fine workmanship of items made, packed, shipped by the amazing people of the Shire Post Mint.
Another brilliant design from SPM. 2020 is a year that no one is going to forget and this encapsulates that.
Bought two of these for my kids, as a memento of getting through such a terrible year. The medals are a great idea and the level of detail is superb! Highly recommended.
As much as I prefer the heft and feel-in-hand of Shire Post Mint's coins, this design warranted the medal. It's just too good as a long-term reminder of the mess of 2020. In 50 years, the kids who had to navigate this bizarre chapter will appreciate this piece of history.
Had a good time giving away this coin.
