The Sun and Moon Worry Coin - Aztec Sun Stone Calendar and Moon in Fine Silver

Worry-free day and night

  • Solid .999 Fine Silver - 31.1g
  • 1.5 in (3.8 cm) diameter
  • Antiqued patina

This coin is engraved after the Aztec Sun Stone, a representation of the five eras of the sun from Aztec mythology. After the Spanish conquest, the monolithic sculpture was buried in the Zócalo, the main square of Mexico City. It was rediscovered on 17, December 1790 during repairs on the Mexico City Cathedral.

The reverse features our Moon's surface texture at a geographically (technically it's selenographically) correct 91,196,160:1 scale.

This heavy fine silver worry stone feels good in the hand and the pocket. The thick silver coin blank is pre-tumbled before minting for a smooth edge and then given an antiqued finish.

Each Sun and Moon coin comes in its own wax-sealed packaging with facts about the art of the Sun Stone, a substantial artifact that gives us a better understanding of the historically significant Aztec peoples.

So the email comes out advising of a reduced cost, but not yet?

Multiple times I have ordered items, on where I put in an order over the $80 price break to receive two free coins, only got one. Silver items were not included in the offer, but it didn’t say that anywhere in the e-mail.

Second time, the coin minter’s birthday, get extra items if your order is over $X amount, again no limits other than cost, should have gotten an extra item. Shipment arrived sans the extra item.

This time, I was told that there was a 20% discount, went on and placed my $80.00 order and did not get a discount, because I ordered it too soon.

This smack a lot of “bait-and-switch”. Be very clear of the limits in your e-mails. They are not up front.

1oz of silver is already overpriced at $80.00, for an open minting, and not a limited edition.

I love your stuff and want you to be successful, but that isn’t going to happen if your customer service continues on this path.

Hi Brandon,

We want to apologize for the lack of clarity in our solstice sale email. We are sending you the last Shire Post Mint Lucky Symbols coin that we have as well as an off-center misstrike from that mintage.

In the future we'll take extra care to be more clear with the way our sales are advertised, and we want to thank you for pointing out this issue so that we can avoid it in the future.

Shire Post Mint coins are struck one at a time in West Fork, Arkansas, USA using solid metals, hand-engraved designs, antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. For antiqued coins, the coloring/patina process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science so coins will vary slightly. Our unique packaging includes a description of each coin and translations if applicable.
