The set contains coins treated to look as if they have been handled and circulated within their world. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science. Coloring and patinas will vary. No two sets are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. These are really top notch creations, very realistic. They remind me of the originals. I love slipping one of these in a family members coin purse and waiting for the reaction.
Conan Set #2 - Deluxe Set of Five Coins
These coins are of incredible quality and the symbol carvings on both sides give them a very elegant look!
The Aquilonian Luna is my favorite and it has some great weight to it as well.
This set is Beautifully crafted and having them in hand gives me the feeling of owning a true relic from Hyboria itself!
Each coin in this set is unique, but the King Conan Aquilonian Luna stands out as the most brilliant of all the Conan coins. It is very thick, the design is very deeply struck which gives it a more of a 3-dimentional look than most coins, and has a great feel. It's my favorite of any of the coins I've seen from Shire Post Mint.
This is a well rounded set and each of the coins has a very unique finish and feel.
I ordered a set of Conan Coins back in the day and they used to be individually placed in plastic card holders with a small booklet that came with interesting lore. For example the Stygian scroll came with a syllabary you could use to "translate" the coin.
This set was different, the coins came in a small plastic display baggie and had a single booklet with a blurb about each coin. It was still very neat and looks great on my display collection, but I can't help wondering what was written in those lore booklets for the coins I didn't collect back then.
