Copper Mushroom with Wood Stand

- .44-1 lb (200-450 grams) of Pure Copper, 99.9% purity
- 2"-2.1"(5.3 cm) diameter
- Includes a wooden stand (randomly selected) for displaying your mushroom, softened to a "driftwood" finish made from either reclaimed Oak, Walnut, Mahogany or Cedar.
- Flame patina with lacquered top finish for patina stability.
- Comes securely packed in a black paper tube with gold Shire Post Mint logo and verdigris colored lining.
We cast these mushrooms in house using the pure copper left over from minting our coins. This process ensures copper purity as well as helps us to use our excess material. Once we use up our excess copper, these will go out of stock until we have enough material saved to make another batch.

Our Process
Shire Post Mint coins are struck one at a time in West Fork, Arkansas, USA using solid metals, hand-engraved designs, antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. For antiqued coins, the coloring/patina process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science so coins will vary slightly. Our unique packaging includes a description of each coin and translations if applicable.

The copper mushroom is very cute, but is impressively hefty and satisfying to handle. It is quite lovely, actually: the patina and surface dimples are perfectly imperfect, the wooden base is irregular (just as I asked, though it was not guaranteed), and it's a wonderful piece of art! Also, I love that it doesn't stand precisely straight -- most real mushrooms don't either. I have nothing else quite like it even though I have a collection of mushrooms in various media and sizes, including some I've made myself. I found it irresistible so I bought it, and I'm glad I did. Unique! And my tiny barn owl now has a home. ;-)
The coloring and finish are gorgeous and itâs the perfect little size to keep on my desk. I only wish the wood block was heavier to counter the copper. It can tip over very easy. Other than that, it makes the perfect addition to my decorations!
