New Dale Silver Daler of EREBOR™

$170.00

100 Years After the Defeat of the Tyrant

"So snow comes after fire and even dragons have their ending!" This large coin, struck in 1 troy ounce of .999 pure silver, was minted 100 years after Bard the Bowman killed the tyrant Smaug. Bard was accorded a 1/4 share of Smaug's hoard in silver, so it is fitting that the centennial Daler for the Death of Smaug be made from from silver recovered from the hoard. The coin shows a masterfully engraved scene with the archer and the dragon above a burning building. On the reverse is The Lonely Mountain and the town of New Dale that Bard helped to establish. The engraver spent an incredible 340 hours creating the intricate images. The text is inscribed in Tengwar.

  • Solid .999 silver, 31.3 grams (1 Troy Oz)

  • 4 cm diameter

Great product wrong name

I know things happen especially given it's 2020. I received the coin before Christmas with the name on the envelope misspelled. Normally it wouldn't be that big of a deal but given the envelope is part of the overall display, I was a little bummed out. Customer service did get in contact with me and were apologetic but there was no rush to send me the new envelope. I'll check again today but I feel like it should have been overnighted.

Daler

At a Troy ounce this thing is hefty. It really feels great in the hand but if I was a citizen of Dale wouldn't want to many in my pocket. The design is excellent and really cool how you can see smaugs missing scale.
