Aerys II Targaryen Silver Stag

$35.00

The Mad King

Aerys II Targaryen, The Mad King, was the last Targaryen to sit on The Iron Throne. Late in his rule he became obsessed with fire, descended into madness, and was slain by Ser Jaime Lannister, hence Jaime's alias, "Kingslayer". This silver Stag denomination features Aerys on the obverse and a stag on the reverse, which represents the denomination for those who cannot read. A silver Stag is worth 7 stars or 56 copper Pennies, and 210 Stags make up one gold Dragon.

  • Solid .999 silver, 3.3 grams (1/10 Troy Oz)

  • .83 in (2.1 cm) diameter

Coin design and engraving by Greg Franck-Weiby.

Aerys stag

Lovely antique looking design. Like the Torren Stark stag it has a very antique design. They look great side by side and make for a lovely display.

Shire Post Mint coins are struck one at a time in West Fork, Arkansas, USA using solid metals, hand-engraved designs, antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. For antiqued coins, the coloring/patina process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science so coins will vary slightly. Our unique packaging includes a description of each coin and translations if applicable.
