The First Coin of the Fourth Age
Made to commemorate the crowning of Aragorn II Elessar and the restoration of the throne, this Gondor silver penny is struck in 1/14 troy ounce of .90 pure silver. The coin features Aragorn on horseback and The White Tree of Gondor with his sword Andúril on the reverse. The coin is dated year 1 of the Fourth Age. The text is inscribed in Tengwar.
This GONDOR™ Silver Penny from the world of J. R. R. Tolkien is struck from solid .999 silver, measures 2 cm in diameter, and weighs about 2.4 grams, or 1/10 of a troy ounce. Coin artwork by Greg Franck-Weiby.
The product is treated to look as if it has been handled and circulated. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science, coloring and patinas will vary. No two are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques.
