Rivendell™ Copper Moon

Sale price$16.00

A Copper Moon of Rivendell

  • 6.3 grams of solid copper.
  • 1.25 in (3.17 cm) diameter at the longest points.

This unique crescent moon coin comes from Rivendell (Imladris in Sindarin), during the rule of Elrond™. It depicts the Rivendell valley, flanked by waterfalls, containing the ancient trees of silver and gold and the three Silmarils, represented as stars.

On the reverse, the Sindarin text inscribed in Tengwar reads, “Elrond Halfelven, Lord of Rivendell and of the Last Homely House East of the Sea, 2941”. TA 2941 is the year that Thorin Oakenshield™ and company meet Elrond at Rivendell before continuing on to The Lonely Mountain.

The coins are struck in varying metals to distinguish their denominations. The Copper Moon is the smallest denomination, followed by the Silver Moon, and the Golden Moon. The Mithril Moon is the largest denomination, worth ten times as much as the Golden Moon.

Coin artwork designed by Dylan Craig and engraved by Woody Maringer.

A fine piece for LOTR fans.

Easily my favorite coins in this already excellent collection. The shape as well as the designs on the coin faces couldn’t be more elvish. The gold and silver versions are equally impressive. Beautiful job!

Christmas Miracle 2: Imladris Boogaloo

This stunning coin was the dessert of my wife's gift haul. Needless to say, she loved it as it no doubt reminded her of our journeys to the theatre to midnight showings of the LotR and the Hobbit trilogies. Or perhaps she reminisced about the ethereal loveliness of Elrond's home. I couldn't tell, I'm not a psychic.

But she carries this coin with her daily and often studies it when she thinks I'm not looking. That being said, if she starts calling it "My Precious", I will have to remove a star from this review.
