Taurus, the second sign in the Zodiac, is named for the Bull’s Head constellation. Its representation as a bull is related to a Greek myth about Zeus assuming the form of a bull, as well as the Babylonian “Bull of Heaven”. There is even speculation that depictions of this constellation appear in the approximately 17,000 year old Lascaux cave paintings in Southern France!

People born from April 20th-May 20th are considered to have Taurus as their ‘Sun sign’ - the part of an astrological chart that determines ego, identity, the character one plays in life. ‘Moon sign’ relates to the subconscious, intuition, inner world, and emotional self.

The sign of Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus and the element of earth. Those with this Sun sign are often thought of as especially practical, dependable, individuals who know how to enjoy the little luxuries in life. Those with a Taurus Moon are often thought of as romantic, steadfast, and serene individuals.
